Mumbai, Oct 14: He might have delivered only one flick this year; nevertheless Ashutosh Gowariker is a busy man these days. The director par excellence has his hands and mind full with new scripts and interesting ideas. And now, he is putting his thoughts to actions as he sets the stage to familiarise the world with yet another historic personality- Bengali revolutionary, Surya Sen.
The director, who is presently occupied directing the lovey-dovey, newly minted couple Harman and Priyanka for his flick ‘What’s your Rashee’, will return to his roots with the film based on the life and contribution of Surya Sen.
What’s interesting is that Ashutosh’s work will draw it’s inspiration from the book ‘Do and Die’, authored by acclaimed writer Manini Chatterjee.
The book that gives a detailed description of the Chittagong uprising of 1930-34, aims to give the revolt the recognition that it deserves.
Speaking to a news daily, author Manini said, "It shook the very foundation of the British administration but has never been recorded the way it should have".
But thanks to the director, the ignorance about the uprising will soon be history.
