Mumbai, July 05: Neil Nitin Mukesh has caught the fancy of ace directors after his work in ‘Johnny Gaddar’, got rave reviews. This time, it is hard-hitting filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who has reportedly roped in the actor for upcoming ‘Jail’ after his ‘Fashion’ hits the screens.
The film, ‘Jail’, a two-hour thriller about three prisoners, produced jointly by Bhandarkar and Percept Pictures, is based on Indian jails. The director feels that a prison story has gone unexplored in Bollywood so far. “It`ll be in the thriller format. I`ve been mulling the subject right from the time I made Chandni Bar. Now I`ve completely revamped the film. I always want to go into genres that are new for me and for the audience,” Bhandarkar said.
A lot of speculation is doing the rounds regarding the film. Some say the film is about a young man, who is imprisoned while his case is still in the courts and others say the film revolves around under trials. Bhandarkar, however, refuses to divulge anything about ‘Jail’. Bhandarkar says he is presently working on the post-production of ‘Fashion’ and he will begin ‘Jail’ only after he is through with ‘Fashion’.
