I`m happier making music than being a Hollywood star: Billy Boyd

London, July 05: Scottish actor Billy Boyd has revealed that he is happier making music than he is acting. Boyd became famous after the Lord of the Rings trilogy and he could have had his pick of Hollywood films and television.

But the 39-year-old Glaswegian, who played Pippin in Peter Jackson`s fantasy trilogy, refused to be swayed by the glitz and glamour.

Instead, he made small budget Scots films such as The Flying Scotsman and On A Clear Day, and other big-budget movies such as Master and Commander.

But he has retained his love for music and gone on to form Beecake, who next week will go into the studio to make their debut album, and while others are going on to better roles he is satisfied with his.

"I haven`t turned down movies as such, I just haven`t been over there to do them,” Daily Record quoted him as saying.

"I like to be in Scotland watching films from other countries other than the US.

"Not every film has to be made in an American high school.

"But I still see the other actors from Lord of the Rings. I was over in the US a month ago and saw Orlando, Viggo and Elijah Wood.

"Beecake did a gig in Los Angeles and Viggo came along. He`s keen to get involved in the album. But I think I`ll pester him to be in a video," he said.

While Billy spends the next three weeks concentrating on his music and playing at the Wickerman Festival on July 25, he has a slew of films that will keep his face in cinemas across the country.
