Patiala, Aug 09: "Singh Is Kingg" has ridden on the peppy beats of bhangra and Punjabi folk to top the music chartbusters, feels singer Daler Mehndi.
"Punjabi music has been the soul of `Singh Is Kingg`, Mehndi told reporters.
"Not just `Singh Is Kingg, most of the Bollywood hits flicks and Indian rap singers are depending on Punjabi music to ensure a popular song," he goes on to say.
The ace singer has rendered his voice in the catchy number "Bhootni Ke".
He said when the film`s music director Pritam called him to sing this popular Punjabi wedding song, he was so impressed
with the idea that he immediately agreed to lend his voice.
Apart from Mehndi, his equally-versatile brother Mika has sung the title track of the movie along with Hard Kaur, Neeraj Shridhar and Ashish Pandit.
Mehndi claimed ‘Singh Is Kingg’ has been the biggest grosser in the last decade in terms of its music sales. For a limited period, the film has earned a whopping Rs 13.5 crore, he said.
