New Delhi, Aug 26: Ranbir Kapoor, the new heartthrob of Bollywood has already got over the stupendous success of ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, and is rearing to turn a director very soon.

The chocolate boy of B-town is eager to don the director’s cap, and would have done it even earlier, if he had the opportunity. But he is not bidding adieu to his acting career so soon.

“I’ll star in the film and direct it. Is that too much responsibility?” an enthusiastic Ranbir quipped.

“I’m passionate about being a director. I’ve lots to say. And I hope audiences accept me as a director as much as they have as an actor,” he said.

Ranbir hopes to follow his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s footsteps, and be the great performer, director and artist that the legendary Raj Kapoor was.

“My aim is not superstardom. My target is to achieve what my grandfather did.”

With the complete Kapoor-clan behind him, Ranbir is sure to get compared to the famous Kapoors of yore, like his father Rishi and of course Raj Kapoor, when the young lad himself aspires to be like him. The light-eyed lad is very conscious of this legacy and holds it in high ground.

“I’m not making a conscious effort to walk in my father’s footsteps, though he’s my favourite actor and I don’t mind being compared with him. But I don’t act or dance like him,” he said.

So the new Kapoor on the block is all set to make his parents proud. He is very keen to be a part of his home production, and bring the old glory back. “It will bring a smile to the face, a tear to the eye, that RK Films was famous for!”
