Mumbai, Aug 28: Marathi playwright Makarand Sathe’s critically acclaimed play, ‘Te Pudhe Gaye’, is all set woo the Hindi speaking audience. The play is being staged as Woh Aage Nikal Gaye at leading Mumbai theatres like Prithvi and Awishkar.

Written and directed by Makarand Sathe, the play is in league with the theatre of the absurd. ‘Woh Aage Nikal Gaye', presents the sorry plight of the modern man, plagued by the market forces of capitalism in which ruthless competition has become all-pervading.

The socio-political play presents the plight of Indians, who have been victims of unprecedented socio-economic divide due to consumerism.

In the play, all characters seem to suffer from neurotic disorders. It is evident that inspite of globalization, world is becoming smaller and intolerance is on the rise. There is mad rush to succeed but the quest is leading to nowhere.

In 'Woh Aage Nikal Gaye', Makarand Sathe presents the crisis faced by the modern man in a very effective way. The play is worth a watch.
