HC directs Aamir`s kin to Sessions Court over reality show row

Mumbai, Aug 28: The Bombay High Court on Thursday sent back Bollywood actor Aamir Khan`s brother, Faisal Khan, to the sessions court, which had refused to stay the telecast of reality show `Bigg Boss`.

Faisal Khan had approached the High Court seeking a stay on the telecast of the reality show alleging that the contract signed between him, Viacomm 18 media, the newly launched Colors channel and production company Endemol was terminated at the last moment allegedly at the behest of Aamir Khan.

"Justice RP Sondurbaldota has remanded the matter back to the sessions court," said Faisal`s counsel Usman Vanjara, adding that the order was passed on a technical ground as the lower court had disposed the matter at an interim stage without hearing the complete arguments.

Khan had first approached the sessions court earlier, which denied to grant any relief observing that such order can be granted only when the applicant has suffered from irreparable loss.

Khan in his appeal before the High Court, however, had claimed that he was invited to participate in the reality show for which a contract was signed on July 29 this year.

Faisal was promised Rs seven lakh as a signing amount, out of which he was paid Rs 5.25 lakh immediately. The balance amount was to be paid after completion of 15 days in the show.

However, on August 11 Khan learnt through a newspaper article that he would not be featuring in the show.

Faisal has alleged that his brother, who has always been "jealous" of his success, has used his influence as a
Bollywood actor to terminate his contract.
