Rapper TI retains lead on singles chart

New York, Sept 04: A week after setting a new record with a 70-place leap to No 1, rapper TI logged a second round atop Billboard`s Hot 100 singles chart Thursday.

His tune, "Whatever You Like," sold more than 176,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan. (The Hot 100 is determined by both sales and radio airplay.)

Rihanna`s former chart-topper "Disturbia" was No 2 for a second week, while Pink`s "So What" jumps six places to No 3 in just its second week after selling 136,000 downloads.

Chris Brown`s "Forever" slipped one place to No 4, while MIA`s "Paper Planes" rose one to No 5, and Coldplay`s "Viva La Vida" remained at No 7.

Ne-Yo`s "Closer" stayed put at No 8, while Jason Mraz`s "I`m Yours" rocketed 15 places to No 9 after selling 112,000 units. His latest album, "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" has now outsold its 2005 predecessor, "Mr A to Z," in just four months. Katy Perry`s "I Kissed a Girl" dropped six places to No 10.

The chart`s top debut was Ludacris` "What Them Girls Like" featuring Chris Brown and Sean Garrett at No 59. Another TI song, "Swing Ya Rag," was new at No 62, while Metallica`s "My Apocalypse" arrived at No 67. The rock band`s "The Day That Never Comes" fell 11 places to No 42 in its second week.

The cancer charity fund-raiser "Just Stand Up!," featuring a dozen-plus top female vocalists, starts at No 78. The artists will perform the song Friday during the multi-network "Stand Up to Cancer" telethon.
