First, who is this Gossip Sanyasin? Well it’s simple. It’s someone who has often tried not to be sexy, naughty, and bitchy and even made some faltoo yet sincere attempts to understand the innate details and the nuances of the otherwise rather boring life.
But gossip is something that has become this person’s second nature and no matter how hard she tries to move to the holy path of Sethu Samundaram and the general gyaan of the Indo US Nuclear deal, it’s the names of the celebrities that sound like music to her ears.
In other words it’s me, and very me!
Well, incase you are thinking that I am rating myself too high wait till you read this:
The Affair That Became Everyone’s Affair
It has been one of the most talked about rather hyped affairs in recent times. An affair that has all the makings of a big budget masala love story, and it surely had the nation talking.
Well no points for guessing this one guys, It’s the Chhote Nawab and Bebo affair i.e ‘ Love Story 2008’.
On the one side there is Saif Ali Khan, a man who comes from a royal lineage and is just getting sexier and naughtier with age (and you thought men get naughty at forty was only a Tambola cliche). On the other side there is young Miss Kapoor, who too comes from the first family of Bollywood. So when they came together the world literally came after them.
They turned the otherwise occasional photographers into celeb crazy paparazzi. With the shutterbugs going ‘click click’ each time the two come together, there is hardly anything private left about their private affair.
But no blaming the media here I must say. The two have been anything but secretive. In fact, each time the camera gets rolling they seem to fall in love all over again.
Whether it was the famous tattoo Victoria errr Kareena, expensive diamond rings or a public spat followed by endless banter about their break ups, there was nothing that you could ignore about this over the top couple.
Surprisingly instead of being touted as the David and Victoria Beckham of Bollywood, the two were being called the desi Angelna Jolie and Brad Pitt.
The sparks of their affair only mellowed down once ‘Tashan’ released. Don’t know about real life but on reel the two literally spelled the word D I S A S T E R.
Even though the movie might have bombed at the BO it surely has done some good by bringing the endless banter about the couple to a halt.
Kareena Vs Kareena
Just when you thought that Bebo could not move beyond her childish breakup and mature linkups, she proved us all wrong and got the buzz rolling again.
Yes, this time round the young Miss Kapoor decided to make news for a change much needed. But no, it was no change in her acting skills. In fact, after Shahid and Saif it was another S-word that caught Kareena’s fancy.
Care to guess this one… Well the word is ‘Size’ and the size is ‘zero’.
So no one bothered when Victoria Beckham went on to be size zero and there was no mention of the now ‘Size To Be’ even when international models died trying to be the new IT. But Bebo shedding those extra pounds spurred nation wide debates about anorexia.
So, Kareena has had a makeover and blah blah blah …But in case you remember Bebo flaunting those thunderous thighs in ‘Hulchul’ and ‘Aitraaz’, you would surely agree that the weight loss is coming a little too late and with a man much older than her.
Well size zero or size ten. The movie that was to test the sizzling makeover ‘Tashan’ could garner no numbers at the charts but a big zero.
However, Tashan’s debacle did not stop Bebo from quoting astounding prices. The actress who still seems to be riding high on the success of ‘Jab We Met’, has made a smart choice to ignore the failure of her latest movie as far as her fee is concerned.
But I wonder what Bebo is spending such big bucks on? Looking at the size zero figure I can assure you it’s not the food, nor the clothes as they are just getting shorter. As far as expensive luxury goods go, her beau Saif Ali Khan makes sure that his lady love blings with the best of diamonds that money can buy.
All there to say is that you can get away from the couple but there’s no getting away from Bebo and her antics or may I say ‘skinny antics’ as that’s is latest ishtyle.
So on that Ultra ‘Filmy’ note … I’ll say goodbye … But keep watching this space as the overrated sequel will follow soon as they say ‘picture abhi baki hai mere dost’.
